It's
one thing for us to say how good we are. But it's quite another
for the Wisconsin Biotechnology and Medical Device Association
to agree with us. They recently chose LabTech Midwest to provide
testing and certification for their membership.
We
take this as a testament to our quality, thoroughness and commitment
to excellence.
The Wisconsin Biotechnology and Medical Device Association has
chosen LabTech Midwest, Inc. to provide members with containment
validation services. Specifically, certification of chemical fume
hoods, biological safety cabinets and other engineering controls
critical to laboratory safety. LabTech Midwest was chosen based
upon high service quality, commitment to the WBA and competitive
pricing programs developed for member firms. Please contact the
WBMDA or LabTech Midwest directly for additional information.
THE PURCHASING CONSORTIUM
The Purchasing Committee's main purpose is to oversee the WBMDA
Purchasing Consortium and to review the need for additional Consortium
contracts based on the needs of the WBMDA member companies. The
WBMDA encourages purchasing agents from all WBMDA member companies
to participate in Purchasing Committee activities.
The WBMDA Purchasing Consortium was established in 1995 to offer
WBMDA members a broad-based portfolio of agreements on goods and
services. The objective of the program is to generate greater
discounts to participating members than they normally could generate
on an individual basis. This is done through group purchasing
contracts. The WBMDA Purchasing Committee has oversight over the
Purchasing Consortium.

LabTech Midwest, Inc.
The WBMDA is pleased to announce that our member company, LabTech
Midwest, has joined the Purchasing Consortium to provide containment
certification services. LabTech offers WBMDA members substantially
discounted prices and additional savings opportunities based on
the length of contract with the member company.
Fisher Scientific Company L.L.C.
Fisher Scientific Company, a worldwide marketer of laboratory
equipment and supplies, was the first Purchasing Consortium company
member. Since 1995 Fisher has provided participating WBMDA member
companies with millions of dollars of savings through the Consortium
contract. In the year 2001 alone, participating companies, who
purchased $2.5 million dollars from Fisher, saved $1.39 million
dollars, or 36.7%, because of discounted pricing on products.
They saved another $89 thousand dollars because of Fisher-absorbed
transportation costs. Fisher Scientific also substantially supports
the WBMDA by providing a rebate based on a percentage of purchases.
Globalcom
Globalcom is a long distance communications provider that joined
the Purchasing Consortium in 2001. Through the Globalcom contract,
participating WBMDA member companies receive significant discounts
on all types of long distance services. And the WBMDA receives
a rebate based on a percentage of member expenditures.
Boise Office Solutions
The WBMDA is pleased to introduce a new member of the Purchasing
Consortium. In July 2002 the WBMDA signed a contract with Boise
Office Solutions (formerly Boise Cascade) for a full range of
office supplies and equipment. Boise is one of the largest such
suppliers worldwide. Boise will provide WBMDA participating member
companies with excellent discounted prices. And the WBMDA will
benefit also as a result of a percentage rebate based on purchase
totals.
