Service Approach: We provide personal design services for all of our clients free of charge. It is our objective to demonstrate our commitment to excellence during the design phase to turn prospective clients into long term customers. This has proven a successful approach since we opened our doors in 1983.

Outline of Our Nine Step Approach:

Initial Meeting: An initial meeting can be as simple as a phone call or email exchange or more as possible and desired. This provides an opportunity for all invested parties to express their vision for the new or remodeled space. Your designer will take notes for incorporation into an initial concept drawing.
Starting Point: To begin we need a solid idea of the proposed space, dimensions, window and door locations, et al. This can be a simple pencil sketch or an AutoCAD file. Your designer will work with you to help best understand the available space.

Drawings and Revisions: Your designer will develop an initial AutoCAD drawing from the dimensions and any design features and desires expressed during the initial meeting. The initial drawing provides a great place to “think thru” your space and work processes. After review your designer will create as many revisions to the drawing until it meets the overall objective for space planning.

Pricing and Budgeting: During the drawing and design process your designer can create budgets as desired – simply let him or her know. Once the plan is refined your designer will provide an exact price quote to include all materials, delivered and installed – a complete solution.

Value Engineering: Depending upon final pricing your designer will work with your team to value engineer the design. The objective of value engineering is to provide substantially the same laboratory while cutting the budget. Changes may include different cabinet configurations, different countertop materials or fume hood types. This is an educational exercise that we explore with clients everyday.

Order Placement: Once the order has been received your designer will order all materials, finalize drawing details and follow up within a week with an your order acknowledgment.

Behind the Scenes: Your designer will switch hats and manage material production lead time to ensure arrival on the correct date and schedule an installation team for your project. We understand that construction schedules change and will accommodate your project time line as required.

Installation: Your installation team will arrive on-time, unload materials and begin installing your new laboratory furniture. Cabinets will be distributed to their final location, all assemblies connected and leveled and then the tops are installed. The installation team will keep a neat, tidy work area and accommodate special requests as desired.

Hood Commissioning: If elected our testing and certification team will be on-site after all of the hoods are operational and have been balanced. Each hood will be evaluated for containment according the ASHRAE 110 – 1995 Test Method as mandated by ANSI Z9.5 in 2003. Once the hoods are commissioned and your team is satisfied with the end result your personnel will move in and make the world a better place through their great work.
